Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IMS users with IMS Database Recovery * * Facility Version 3 Release 1 installed. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR provides new function to the * * DRF V3R1 product. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** This APAR will address two requirements opened by users against the DRF V3R1 product. MR0411076935 Provide a capability to use a single generic started task name for all recovery subordinate address spaces started by DRF. MR0722046753 Add the STC number to the DRF reports. The addition of the STC number will provide an additional unique identifier for each subordinate address space.
Problem conclusion
AIDS: RIDS/UTIL RIDS/DBS DBS/UTIL GEN: *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** FRXEDRF, FRXEDRF0, FRXEPSS0, FRXEWSP, FRXLACR0, FRXRWSP, and FRXVWSP are changed to support a new ASGNAME parameter on the SORTPARM sysin keyword. The ASGNAME parameter will allow users to indicate if the generic DRFSORT name is to be used for all subordinate address spaces. FRXICTL0, FRXPDSR0, FRXPSDS0, FRXRIPL, and FRXRVGB are changed to obtain and save the STC numbers for each subordinate address space. The STC numbers are saved in the FRXRIPL control block and passed over to report processing. FRXGRPT0 is changed to list the generic subordinate address space name DRFSORT if ASGNAME was specified. The reports are also changed to list the STC number next to each subordinate address space name. FRXEPQS0, FRXGAPI0, and FRXGRDM0 are recompiled due to control block changes in FRXRIPL. If running with IMS High Performance Pointer Checker Version 2 Release 2 (HPC2220) then the following APAR is required: PK50142 The following DOC change is implemented: --------------------------------------------------------------- IBM IMS Database Recovery Facility for z/OS (SC18940702) User's Guide and Reference Version 3 Release 1 Chapter 3. Defining and tailoring the IMS Database Recovery Facility environment Under the SORTPARM keyword the following description for ASGNAME is included: ASGNAME(Y|N) Use this parameter to set a generic Standard Task Control (STC) name for the subordinate address spaces created by the IMS Database Recovery Facility. This is an optional parameter. Y Specifies that IMS Database Recovery Facility will override all subordinate address spaces in order to use DRFSORT as the STC name. N This is the default. See ASPREF, below, for the default method of subordinate address space naming conventions.
