PK50258: Directory elements are missing in IIS5.1 Virtual Directorys that point to the MVFS

APAR status

• Closed as Vendor Solution.

Error description

• Creating virtual directories in IIS 5.1 that point to
  dynamic views will not display folders. File elements are
  displayed without problem, but directory elements appear to
  be missing from the view.
  
  Steps to repro:
  
  As prerequisite, you need to install IIS5.1 management
  console on a Windows XP machine where ClearCase MVFS is
  installed. Go to [Control Panel]-[Add or Remove Programs]-
  [Add/Remove Windows Components], select [Internet
  Information Service(IIS)] and click [Next].
  
  1. Go to [Control Panel]-[Administrative Tools]-
     [Internet Information Service]
  2. Expand [computer name]-[Web Sites]
  3. Right click on [Default Web Site] and select [New]-
     [Virtual Directory]
  4. [Virtual Directory Creation Wizard] will start up.
     Click [Next]
  5. Enter Alias, e.g. 'CCProj' and click [Next].
  6. Enter the path to VOB directory, e.g \\view\myview\myvob\
     and click [Next]. Make sure that the VOB contains some
     folders and file elements.
  7. Enter your username and password (twice).
  8. Click [Next] to complete the wizard.
  9. Select the virtual directory. Only file elements are
     visible and folders are missing.
  
  If the virtual directory shows as red color icon [Error],
  open Properties and click [Connect As] and enter password
  again.
  
  If you repeat the steps on Windows2000 machine where
  IIS5.0 is installed, or Windows 2003 machine with IIS6.0,
  the problem does not occur.

• This is not an issue with ClearCase MVFS but with IIS 5.1.
  Upgrading to IIS 6.0 on Windows XP resolves this problem.
