Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IMS High Performance Unload for * * OS/390 Release 1 (FMID=H1IN110) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HP Unload API passes the GN call * * with 3 SSAs to IMS DL/I incorrectly. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR fixes the following problems: 1) A DL/I call with three SSAs is not supported by the HP Unload API. For APISET 3, the call is passed to IMS DL/I. However, the call is passed incorrectly and in this case, all records are not returned. This problem can occur after applying APAR PK32595. 2) When a logical DBD is specified, HP Unload API issues the following messages: FABH0350E HSSR CALLS FALL BACK TO DL1 FOR NAMED DBD BECAUSE OF FOLLOWING PROBLEM IN DBD=xxxxxxxx FABH0381E: DBD IS NOT A PHYSICAL DBD FABH0351W SYSTEM PERFORMANCE WILL SLOW DOWN, PLEASE INFORM YOUR IMS SPECIALISTS FABH0091W UNABLE TO PROCESS THE FOLLOWING PCB AS AN HSSR PCB (REASON: OTHER ) FABH0091W DBD=xxxxxxxx, PCB#=0001, PCBNAME=******** FABH0350E should not be an error type message. FABH0351W should not be shown for a PCB or a DBD that HSSR Engine does not support. FABH0350E is changed to a warning message FABH0350W. FABH0351W is removed in case the specified PCB or the specified DBD is not supported by HSSR Engine.
Problem conclusion
======================== = Documentation Change = ======================== IBM IMS High Performance Unload for OS/390 User's Guide (SC27-0936-05) should be changed as follows: ================================================================ 4.4 Messages 4.4.2 Message variables 4.4.2.1 FABH messages (The FABH0350E message is changed to an warning type message.) ---------------------------------------------------------------- FABH0350W HSSR CALLS FALL BACK TO DL/I FOR NAMED DBD|ALL DBD'S BECAUSE OF FOLLOWING PROBLEM IN DBD=dbdname Explanation: During the building of control blocks for the dbdname, HSSR Engine detected an abnormal situation or an unsupported definition. This situation is described by the next message. System Action: All HSSR calls fall back to DL/I calls, either for the named DBD or for all DBDs. The corresponding PCBs fall back to DL/I PCBs. All calls issued against these PCBs are processed by DL/I action modules. Programmer Response: If the fallback is done for all DBDs, the problem could be an unexpected layout of DL/I control blocks. See the accompanying messages issued by HSSR Engine. ---------------------------------------------------------------- ================= End of Documentation Change ==================
