Error description

  • Dump Title: OMEGAMON II FOR DB2 DUMP: TASK=COMMCOLL,ID=V410
    ,MOD=DGOVMSTR,OFFSET=0021B0,CODE=S052/00000517
ABEND052-517 issued following an ETCON (Connect Entry Table)
from KO2AINIB+2C0C (at PK53416 level) with an invalid LXLIST.
An earlier instance of Omegamon had gone to EOM and an orderly
    cleanup had not occurred.
The OMEGAMON Server STC has been cancelled and not shutdown
properly using the stop command. A subsequent start of the
OMEGAMON Server led to SYSTEM COMPLETION CODE=052 REASON
    CODE=00000517 in the PESERVER subtask.

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The OMEGAMON Collector address space (AS) owns a system
linkage index (SLX) and cross memory binding to other AS
(ISPF Monitoring dialogs). It makes OMEGAMON Collector AS
permanently non-reusable. When ABEND S052 occurs after
abnormal termination of OMEGAMON Collector AS, the AS can
no longer be recycled until IPL is performed.

    PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
To avoid the need to perform an IPL when ABEND S052 occurs after
abnormal termination of the OMEGAMON Collector AS, the AS must
reserve a new SLX for its further use. The fix provides this by
means of an ABEND handler that controls possible ABENDs which
may occur during running of the ETCON or other cross memory
programming macros. Since the number of "corrupted" SLXs
preventing further use of OMEGAMON Collector AS may vary
depending on the kind of abnormal termination of the AS, the
user should expect to recycle a corresponding OMEGAMON Collector
started task as many times as the number of instances which are
indicated in messages FPEV0188 which are issued at the startup
stage of the started task. Usually GPR2 at the time of the ABEND
    S052 shows a "corrupted" SLX.
