PK48965: IMPROVEMENTS TO MESSAGING IN ADB2CUST EXEC WHEN ERRORS OCCUR

APAR status

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool exec ADB2CUST issued a message:
  >> DISPLAY PANEL(ADB2CUS0) MSG(),
   Rc=12, Msg=ISPP100  - Panel 'ADB2CUS0' error,
     Panel not found.,
  as a result of a high level qualifier being used by more than
  one product. The error was caused by the allocation of an ISPPLI
  B library for another product rather than the SADBPLIB library.
  The DB2 Administration Tool looks for several versions of the
  suffixes to aid easy of installation eg SADBLIB, ISPPLIB, PANELS
  

Local fix

• The ADB2CUST exec can be modified to search for only certain
  suffix types, please contact IBM Service for details.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1) When panels are not found the error  *
  *                         message does not indicate what data  *
  *                         sets were examined for the panels.   *
  *                      2) When  searching  a list of  data     *
  *                         sets for a member name, the same     *
  *                         data set is searched twice. This     *
  *                         unnecessary.                         *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  1) For a member not found condition, the list of data set names
     that were searched has been added to the error message.
  2) The redundant library search has been removed.
  3) A new parameter LIBPRE has been added. When a value is
     specified for LIBPRE it is used instead of the list of
     library types.
