When building a filter string from selection parameters, the
WUI encloses any value strings containing special characters in
single quotes. When a non-zero Warning Count is specified,
EYU0XDP1 (XDP1 - API GET Command Processor) is then called with
the QUERY parameter to return the number of resources mapped by
Topology. XDP1 calls EYU0MOFS (MOFS - MOS Field Services) to
convert the key attribute value to internal form, and passes the
converted value to module EYU0TMRI (TMRI - Topology Resource
Inquiry) to return the number of resources.
However MOFS and TMRI do not support quoted value strings.
The length of the quoted string '<+++' is six characters, but
the TERMID attribute is four characters long. Thus MOFS returns
    RESPONSE=EXCEPTION, REASON=LENGTH_ERROR.  If a shorter filter
(e.g. '*') is passed, MOFS will convert it correctly, but TMRI
will report that no resources were found that match the provided
value, so no warning panel will be presented even if the true
number of resources exceeds the specified warning count.

Problem conclusion

  • EYU0XDP1 was modified to remove quotes before passing values
to MOFS. The unquoted value will be converted to internal form
and passed to TMRI, which will return the count of resources
mapped by Topology. This will not affect filter compilation,
which will still process the entire criteria string including
    any quotes.
