APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool SADBSAMP member ADBCHANG used to
create DDL for the Change Management function fails with a
SQLCODE -614 on statement CREATE UNIQUE INDEX ADBCHGX2
when executed against a subsystem running DB2 R810 in
compatibility mode( CM ).

Local fix

  • Do not define the index ADBCHGX2

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: Installers of the DB2  Administration        *
*                 Tool  creating  the Change Management        *
*                 database objects during installation.        *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DB2 V8 in the  Compatibility  Mode  and *
*                      Enabling  Mode will  encounter problems *
*                      creating the index because the combined *
*                      key length is 256.  The DB2 V8 does not *
*                      support  a combined  key  length of 256 *
*                      until New Function Mode is enabled.     *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
Installation  documentation and sample  installation jobs have
been  updated to  clarify  that  when creating  the Admin Tool
Change Management objects in a DB2 V8 CM or EM mode should use
the sample job provided for DB2 V7.
