Error description

  • In DB2 Administration Tool CM Change Management function
PROMOTE of a new base version can overwrite delta(s) that were
defined on the prior base version. Customer requests a warning
any time an overwrite condition exists for PROMOTE function.

*                 Management Promote a  Change that specify    *
*                 a data set name for the Delta Change file    *
*                 and the data set already exists.             *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users have been accidentally            *
*                      overwriting  existing  delta            *
*                      change files.                           *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
Because  the name  of the delta change file has been saved from
the last time, pressing enter will result in an overwrite. This
may not be intentional.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A popup panel has been added to seek permission to replace an
existing delta change.
