Error description

  • Pointer errors after DRF recovery with HDAM DB
From the HPPC output the HI-U-RBA was calculated something like
'8A2E4000'x. DRF treated this as a signed value so it interpret
-ed this as a negative number.
This problem only applies to recoveries using SMS type ICs for
    VSAM databases.

    ****************************************************************
When processing SMS-type image copies for HDAM databases, DRF
obtains the HI-U-RBA of the database data set to determine the
end. This is used to compare against the RBA from update
records so updates may either be applied to existing database
blocks or written out to extend the database.

The HI-U-RBA is normally obtained as a fullword value.
However, it was determined that in the event that the high-
ordered-bit of the HI-U-RBA is on, then it needs to be obtained
    as a doubleword value.

Problem conclusion

  • AIDS: RIDS/UTIL RIDS/DBS DBS/UTIL
      DEP: NONE
      GEN:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
FRXIVSM0 is changed to check if the high-orderd-bit of the
HI-U-RBA obtained from the database data set is ON. If it is
ON then DRF needs to save a copy of the HI-U-RBA as a double-
    word value.

FRXRBUF0 is changed to not discard the last buffer containing
    log updates during timestamp recoveries.
