    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) gets ABEND0C4 *
    * in FABPDNLM CSECT in load module *
    * FABPACTL. The data at PSW contains *
    *                      X'0E0E' ( MVCL R0,R14 ).                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
The ABEND0C4 occurs when all of the following conditions are
    satisfied:
     - Run HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) as FABPMAIN job.
     - DATASET=IMAGECOPY is specified in the PROCCTL statement
       for index database.
     - DD statement of the input image copy data set is omitted.
     - Prior to the HDPC run, IBM High Performance Image Copy
(HPIC) is run with the VIC=Y option.

When VIC=Y option is specified, HPIC does not create an image
copy data set of the index database, but creates a user image
copy (USER IC) record in the RECON data set. The layout of user
image copy record is different from the layout of the standard
    image copy record.
HDPC erroneously refers to the user image copy record as a
standard image copy record and that causes the ABEND0C4.

Problem conclusion

  • The module FABPRCHK has been fixed not to use the 'USER IC'
RECON record to retrieve the information of an image copy data
    set.
