Error description

  • Message FABJ3833E ( MSGFABJ3833E ) TWO VALID RECON DATA
SETS NOT PROVIDED followed by U3833 ( ABENDU3833 ) because HP
Image Copy doesn't do the DYNALLOC for the RECONs based on MDA
members if the MDA members reside in the STEPLIB concatenation,
and the IMSDALIB ddname is specified.

Local fix

  • Add ddnames for the RECON data sets in the JCL.

    * data are concatenated in STEPLIB DD and *
    * IMSDALIB DD is provided in the jcl. *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    HPIC V4R1 issues message FABJ3833E ( MSGFABJ3833E ) and
terminates with ABEND U3833 ( ABENDU3833 ) when the library of
DFSMDA members for RECON data are concatenated in STEPLIB DD and
IMSDALIB DD is provided in the jcl.
Because HPIC does not search DFSMDA member in data sets of
STEPLIB, when some data sets are specified in IMSDALIB DD in the
jcl. And HPIC regards there is no DFSMDA member for RECON data
set, and does not allocate RECON data sets dynamically.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJARC0, FABJDALC and FABJDALO have been modified to search
STEPLIB DD for DFSMDA member when the member is not found in
    IMSDALIB DD.
