PK45164: IMS CONTROL REGION U0757 BECAUSE AN LTERM (CNT) IS BEING CREATED WITH A LOWER CASE FIRST CHAR (X'40' BIT OFF)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IMS control region terminates with a U0757 because an
  LTERM (CNT) is being created with a lower case first
  character (the x'40' bit is off).
  As part of ETO Support signoff cleanup processing, there was
  an attempt  to start the USER (SPQB) control block, but the
  block was  deleted and the storage was re-used by the LTERM
  (CNT) before signoff cleanup completed processing.

  LTERM (CNT) is being created with a lower case first character
  (the x'40' bit is off).
  As part of ETO Support signoff cleanup processing, ETO Support
  was attempting to start the USER (SPQB) control block, but the
  block was deleted and the storage was re-used by the LTERM (CNT)
  before ETO Support completed processing.
  

Problem conclusion

• ETO Support has been changed to leave the USER (SPQB) stopped
  for a longer duration of time (to prevent it from being deleted)
  and to issue the /STA USER commmand to ensure the USER is not
  in a stopped state after signoff cleanup.
