  The code is abending on a compare CLC, using R4 as one of the
  base registers.
  
  From the symptoms, we have r4 containing blanks: x'40404040'.
  R4 is loaded after some bit twiddling/shifting which looks very
  questionable.  We are picking up a page number BBPAGE which
  looks like a EYECATCHER, rather than some hex number.  The
  buffer block is pointed to by register 1: 78408C81.  The entire
  code area is standing on very shaky ground.
  
  Our interpretation of the BB (Buffer Block) control block needs
  an update.
