Error description

  • DB2 APAR PK28561/PTF UK18090 introduces changes to the
    availability of package related accounting information. A new
    trace class, 10,
    is created that must be started to gather information that was
    previously available.
    

Local fix

  • If possible defer applying DB2 APAR PK28561/PTF UK18090 until
    this fix is available.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1.1 For V310 + V410:                    *
    *                      APAR PK28561 / PTF UK18090 for          *
    *                      DB2 V810 introduces changes to the      *
    *                      availability of package related         *
    *                      accounting information. IFCID239 will   *
    *                      no longer collect package detail info   *
    *                      by default. Now a new trace class has   *
    *                      to be started (accounting class 10)     *
    *                      to get package detail information.      *
    *                                                              *
    *                      2.1 For V310:                           *
    *                      IFCID63 collects only the first 5000    *
    *                      bytes of an SQL statement. To allow     *
    *                      the collection of the complete          *
    *                      SQL statements the new option FULL      *
    *                      is introduced which is currently not    *
    *                      supported for batch mode install.       *
    *                                                              *
    *                      2.2 For V410:                           *
    *                      IFCID63 collects only the first 5000    *
    *                      bytes of an SQL statement. To allow     *
    *                      the collection of the complete          *
    *                      SQL statements the new option FULL      *
    *                      is introduced.                          *

    *                      3.1 For V410:                           *
    *                      When stepping through all DB2           *
    *                      subsystem configuration panel by        *
    *                      specifying ALL on the command line on   *
    *                      the DB2 subsystem configuration menu    *
    *                      and not having PE Client support        *
    *                      enabled you get stuck when step         *
    *                      backward by pressing F3.                *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply this PTF                               *

    1.1 For V310 + V410:
    To collect package detail data in Near-Term History the
    accounting class 10 that was introduced by DB2 has to be
    supported.
    
    2.1 For V310:
    To collect long SQL statements the option DYNAMICSQL(FULL)
    has to be supported also by batch mode install.
    
    2.2 For V410:
    To collect long SQL statements the option DYNAMICSQL(FULL)
    has to be supported in Near-Term History.
    
    3.1 For V410:
    One gets stuck when navigating backwards through the
    DB2 subsystem configuration panels with the ALL option.
    

Problem conclusion

  • 1.1 For V310 + V410:
    Program has been changed to have the possibility to start
    accounting trace class 10 via acctg startup parameter
    
    1.2 For V310 + V410:
    ICAT: A new variable to enable the collection of accounting
    class 10 information in NTH is added.
    
    2.1 For V310:
    ICAT: The option FULL for Dynamic SQL in NTH was enabled
    for batch mode install.
    
    2.2 For V410:
    ICAT: To allow the collection of complete SQL statements
    (even if these are longer than 5000 bytes) the option FULL
    is introduced for Dynamic SQL.
    
    3.1 For V410:
    ICAT: The panel flow control is adjusted to let you navigate
    backwards when PE Client support is not enabled.
