Error description
Customer used AOS=Y for a pair of IMSs in a shared queue group. RRS is cancelled on the z/OS image where IMS2 is running. DFS2088I RC24 is received on IMS1 and DFS2088 RC28 on IMS2. IMS2 is then shutdown, and DFS2089 is received on IMS1. Correct so far. IMS2 is then restarted. DFS2088 RC24 is received on IMS2. /DIS A Command shows global status INACTIVE. Dump shows CSCD_GLOBAL_STATUS is 'F', which should never occur. Analysis shows that the problem orginates in AWAOLEAV processing on IMS1. At this point CSCD_LOCAL_STATUS ('F') is incorrectly set into CSCD_GLOBAL_STATUS. The rest of the problems flow from here, as AWAOJOIN processing propogates this back to IMS1. DFSIDP20 reports 'F' as INACTIVE.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS V10 APPC/OTMA SMQ enablement users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MSGDFS2088I Reason=024 after IMS warm * * restart even if AOS=F was specified * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** In an IMSPLEX, members using RRS=Y and AOS=F may lose availability of the SYNCHRONOUS APPC/OTMA SHARED QUEUE facility when/if RRS becomes temporarily unavailable on a given LPAR. Any subsequent attempt to reconnect or recycle IMS (warm start) in the partition where RRS was temporarily unavailable will cause following message to be issued: DFS2088I APPC/OTMA SMQ Enablement inactive. Reason = 024 /DIS A DC command will show the following message for the affected members of the IMSPLEX: APPC/OTMA SHARED QUEUE STATUS - LOCAL=FORCE GLOBAL=INACTIVE
Problem conclusion
AIDS: RIDS/UTIL RIDS/DBS DBS/UTIL DEP: NONE GEN: SYSPLEXSQ *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** Logic in DFSAOSW0 has been changed to correctly propagate the CSCD_GLOBAL_STATUS when AOS=F parm is specified in DFSDCxxx
