Error description

  • In DB2 Administration Tool the CC Catalog Copy function can
produce incorrect PRIQTY and SECQTY values for CC objects.
Under and over allocations are reported.
    .
Reported objects: INDEX DSNKSX01 and CC4K tablespace but
potential exists for other objects, especially those that
receive a line similar to the following from the GEN step:
      -- VCAT "00000001" -- DB2 catalog index
These objects receive a default of 100 50 for PRIQTY and
    SECQTY, respectively.

Local fix

  • Edit job to break CC job into two parts, with break after
ISPFBAT step. Modify SQL to provide space allocations that work
well for your environment, before executing remainder of
    jobsteps.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
The change is to create the DDL using a DB2 defined space
allocation with a STOGROUP and PRIQTY and SECQTY values.
These latter are based on the space used by the objects in
the catalog from which the copy is being made.

Problem conclusion
