    ****************************************************************
When image copies generated under DRF for SHISAM databases are
used as input to recoveries, errors such as the following may
    occur:

MSGDFS2802A ERROR FEEDBACK = 0000000C IN RESPONSE TO A VSAM PUT
REQ ON DDNAME ddname FOR FUNCTION RV, R15 = 08
    or
    MSGFRD4306I VSAM WRITE LOGICAL ERROR: RC=08 RSN=0C DDNAME=ddname

These messages identify that an attempt was made to perform a
sequential PUT and encountered a record whose key does not
follow the proper ascending order. This is due to the image
copies used as input contains only HEX zeroes in all records.
Image copies for SHISAM databases are generated incorrectly
    through DRF.

Problem conclusion

  • AIDS: RIDS/UTIL RIDS/DBS DBS/UTIL
      DEP: NONE
      GEN:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
It was determined that additional information needed to be
passed to HPIC when attempting to generate image copies for
SHISAM databases under the DRF process. HPIC requires the
maximum record size for SHISAM databases. A change is made
in DRF to determine the maximum record size from the Catalog
and pass that value to HPIC.
