Error description

  • Using Object Compare and using run Sqlid for views referencing
    synonyms creates incorrect 2 part name on the create of the
    view.
    Examples of correct view
      SET CURRENT SQLID='DINO';
      SET CURRENT PATH = "SYSIBM","SYSFUN","SYSPROC","DINO" ;
      CREATE VIEW DINO.MYFILMS AS
      SELECT FILMNAME
      FROM MYTOYTB ; <<<< this is the synonym
    Examples of incorrect view after Compare
      SET CURRENT SQLID = 'DBASUP' ;
      COMMIT ;
      SET CURRENT PATH = "SYSIBM","SYSFUN","SYSPROC","DINO" ;
      CREATE VIEW DINO.MYFILMS AS
      SELECT FILMNAME
     FROM DINO.MYTOYTB ; (this is incorrect synonym)

    *                      that  uses  a  synonym  - incorrectly   *
    *                      generates view DDL with a 2 part name   *
    *                      on the synonym when RUN SQLID is set.   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    A Object Compare incorrectly generates DDL for views referencing
    synonyms when RUN SQLID is set.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The Fix for Object Compare V7.2. The run SQLID option will be
    disabled for views referencing synonyms. The right SQLID will
    be set  before the  create view statement and set back to the
    run SQLID after.
