Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool generates incomplete syntax for a
-STO command which results in a message:
DSN9002I UNBALANCED PARENTHESES WERE FOUND FOLLOWING KEYWORD
'PART'
when an ALTER is attempted.
This error only occurs if panel ADB21SA 'Alter Table Space' was
arrived at via the SM line command on panel ADB21S 'Table Spaces
' and an AL line command on panel ADB2M1S 'Page Set Statistics'.

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Admin Tool attempting to alter  *
*                 a table space.                               *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An error can occur when using the AL    *
*                      line command on a table space within    *
*                      Space Manager.  The possible  errors    *
*                      include IFI return code=8,the reason    *
*                      code=00E60820 or message DSN9002I.      *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
The error is due to a trailing parenthesis and part number being
omitted from the -STOP of the table space.
