Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool panel ADB21X 'Alter Index' fails
  with a Zerrmsg ISPP178 Zerrsm Panel 'ADB21XA' error
  Conversion or truncation problem found while attempting to
  store variable 'PART' if the ST / 'Storage Type' field is
  changed from E to I. This error only occurs if panel ADB21X
  'Alter Index' was arrived at via the SM line command on panel
  ADB21X 'Indexes' then the AL line command on panel ADB2M1S
  'Page Set Statistics'.

  *                      An error occurs when using the AL line  *
  *                      command  on a  partitioned  index  and  *
  *                      changing  only  the  "ST" value on the  *
  *                      "All Parts" section.The reported error  *
  *                      is  SQLCODE104,  due to an  incomplete  *
  *                      USING VCAT or USING STOGROUP clause.    *
  *                      An error occurs when using the AL line  *
  *                      command  on a  partitioned  index  and  *
  *                      changing  certain  attributes  on  the  *
  *                      "All Parts" section.The reported error  *
  *                      is SQLCODE626,  due to the index space  *
  *                      has not been stopped.                   *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  The trunction problem is caused by a variable value exceeding
  its  vdefined size.  The SQLCODE104  problem is caused by not
  requiring that the VCAT name  or STOGROUP name be included if
  one is changing  the storage type.  The SQLCODE626 problem is
  caused by a logic error in the code.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problems have been fixed.
