PK38611: PANEL ADB21 PRODUCES MESSAGE ' NO ROWS FOUND '

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool using panel adb21 can produce
  message ' no rows found ' after entering 18 character input to
  NAME field. The 18 character object name is found successfully,
  but attempts to enter shorter names after that cause ill-formed
  SELECT to return with 'no rows found'.
  

Local fix

• Restart Admin session
  . Additional workaround solutions:
  Use primary command EXPAND and delete extraneous characters at
  end of scrollable field, including trailing %
  .
  Or, use primary command RESET to reset all fields prior to next
  screen use.
  .
  Or, blank out entire field using space bar.
  Or, delete all characters from the field with the delete key,
  Then press ENTER key, which should produce message:
    Variables cleared
  .
  Or, use primary ISPF command ZCLRSFLD, with cursor positioned
  in scrollable field you wish to clear. (Requires z/OS 1.8 for
  ISPF support of ZCLRSFLD command)
  .
  Summary: local fixes are alternate methods of eliminating the
  trailing % in scrollable fields that is residual from prior use
  of a long name in the scrollable field(s).
