Here is a short description of the solution used to solve this
    issue
    1. Create a new jacl command ceiconfigreload.jacl which
performs the reloading of all Common Event Infrastructure (CEI)
WebSphere Application Server resources into the WebSphere
    Application Server name space.
    2. Create a new custom property of type Boolean at the Event
Service level. When set to true Common Event Infrastructure
performs the JNDI lookups directly from the WebSphere
Application Server naming service and not from the
    InitialContext() cache.

If you define a new event group, even if WebSphere Application
Server with Common Event Infrastructure is not restarted,
you have the possibility to reload Common Event
Infrastructure resources and use them, without restarting
    WebSphere Application Server.

Problem conclusion

  • Applying the iFix associated with this APAR, the
Common Event Infrastructure exploiters will be able to make use
of the newly created event groups without the need to restart
    the WebSphere Application Server.
The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 6.1.0.11. Please refer to the recommended updates page
