• HPPR got ABENDU2480 after the following messages were issued:
  DSP0008I VSAM LOGICAL ERROR ON RECON1   DATA SET
    DSP0008I DSNAME=dsname
    DSP0008I VSAM FEEDBACK CODE=228

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR fixes the following two       *

  *                      1. ABENDU2480 occurred when the Prefix  *
  *                      Update function with HPPRBH=NO ran      *
  *                      under Parallel RECON access.            *
  *                                                              *
  *                      2. MSGIEC036I 002-04 was issued when    *
  *                      Stand-alone Prefix Update used an empty *
  *                      DFSURWF3 data set.                      *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
  ****************************************************************
  This APAR fixes the following two problems:
  
  1. When the Prefix Update function with HPPRBH=NO ran for a VSAM
  database under Parallel RECON access, the following messages and
  ABENDU2480 were received during the database authorization
  request:
   DSP0008I VSAM LOGICAL ERROR ON RECON1   DATA SET
   DSP0008I DSNAME=dsname
   DSP0008I VSAM FEEDBACK CODE=228
  
  2. When Stand-alone Prefix Update used the empty DFSURWF3 data
  set which was created by Stand-alone Prefix Resolution,
  MSGIEC036I 002-04 was issued because EOF was not written to the
  DFSURWF3 data set.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. The Prefix Update function with HPPRBH=NO has been modified
  so that authorization is obtained for a VSAM database under
  Parallel RECON access.
  
  2. The Prefix Resolution function has been modified to write EOF
  to a DFSURWF3 data set even when there are no WF3 records which
  are written by Stand-alone Prefix Resolution.
