Error description

  • This APAR addresses the following problems:
    1) If error FABJ3957E, abend U3957, occurs, dump the entire
RECON data set to file FABJRDMP - this should provide us a clue
as to why this error occurs.
    2) Fix Logical Relationship search.
    3) Change HPIO to support OSAM Large Format Data Sets.

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
By this APAR, High Performance Input/Output interface (HPIO) for
Large Format data set under z/OS Version 1 Release 7 or higher
    release.

By this APAR, STACK= and ICOUT= is enabled in GLOBAL statement
    and HPIC Site Default table.

This APAR includes fixes for the following problems:

    1. HPIC V4R1 Image Copy function terminates with ABEND U3916
( ABENDU3916 ), when all of the following conditions are
       satisfied:
     - DBALL=Y is specified in the ICEIN control statement.
     - GROUP and IC statements are specified in the ICEIN control
       statement.
     - The process sequence of the GROUP member is sorted by
       DBALL=Y.
Because HPIC mishandles the sort process, HPIC generates the
duplicate control blocks. So HPIC tries to doing dynamic
allocation for the same IC data set, and fails dynamic
    allocation.

    2. HPIC V4R1 Image Copy function ends normally.
But DBDSGRP|CAGRP information of the Image Copy Dump Process
Report is reported incorrectly, when the following conditions
       are satisfied:
     - DBALL=Y is specified in the ICEIN control statement.
     - GROUP and IC statements are specified in the ICEIN control
       statement.
     - The process sequence of the GROUP member is sorted by
       DBALL=Y.

    3. HPIC V4R1 Image Copy function terminates with ABEND S0C4
( ABEND0C4 ), when the length of HALDB keystring is
       multiples of 8 plus 2.
When HPIC refers HALDB keystring of the RECON record, HPIC tries
to move that record using an invalid length. So HPIC refers the
invalid area and terminates with abend S0C4.

    4. RECON Minivers handling incorrectly.
