Error description

  • DB2 Object Comparison Tool detecting change in trigger and
    causing drop/recreate when the trigger being compared has
    a third level qualifier and being compared against the
    identical trigger having two level qualifier.  Original
    triggers are all two level qualifiers.  GEN being used to
    collect DDL for comparison task, with RUNSQLID being used
    causing generated DDL to have three level qualifiers in
    where clause.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After using RUNSQLID a trigger where    *
    *                      clause column could be changed to a     *
    *                      three level  qualifier.                 *
    *                      This poses a problem when the newly     *
    *                      GEN'd trigger is then compared back     *
    *                      to a DB2 catalog containing the same    *
    *                      trigger  having  the original column    *
    *                      qualifications. A compare run showed    *
    *                      a trigger change was made because of    *
    *                      the  newly  qualified column in the     *
    *                      where  clause  and the trigger was      *
    *                      marked for drop/recreate.               *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF.                               *
    ****************************************************************
    A compare run showed a trigger change  was made because of the
    newly qualified column in the where clause and the trigger was
    marked for drop/recreate.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Apply the PTF to fix the probbem.
