Error description

  • DBFUMRT0 changes the following's in IMS V9:
    1) It makes the SDEP LE RBA equal to the SDEP LB RBA.
         Prior to IMS V9, the SDEP LE RBA was LB RBA + 4.
      2) It initializes all SDEP CIs with specific characters.
    
    HPFPU tools need to report the SDEP free space correctly
    and should reload in the same manner with DBFUMIN0.
    
    Although if the SDEP CIs are formatted with pre-IMS V9
    the applications can still access the area.
    
    This is a fix for the Fast Path Reorganization and Fast Path
    Basic part of HPFPU.
    
    This is a forward fit APAR of HPFPU V2R2 PK36019.

    Forward Fit APAR of HPFPU V2R2 PK36019.
    IMS V9 DBFUMIN0 (DEDB area initialization) changes
    the following.
    
    1. The SDEP LE (DMACNXTS) RBA equals to the SDEP LB (DMACXVAL)
       RBA. Prior to IMS V9, the SDEP LE RBA is the SDEP LB RBA + 4.
    2. SDEP logical begin time-stamp (DMACSDEP_LOGICALBEGIN_TS)
       is set DBFUMIN0 processing time.
    3. The dummy SDEP segments, deleted logically, are inserted
       in all SDEP CIs.
    
    HPFP utilities reports SDEP free space incorrectly in above
    empty area.
    
    FPB Unload/Reload, HPFP Reorganization Unload/Reload functions
    and hash checking from HPIC and DRF don't address the above IMS
    V9 modification. Therefore there are the following problem.
    
    1. Unload/Reload don't address the dummy SDEP segments inserted
       in the area initialization in IMS V9 environment.
       Note even if the SDEP CIs are formatted with pre-IMS V9, the
       applications can access the area.
    2. Hash checking from HPIC and DRF don't report SDEP free space
       usage for an initialized DEDB area as 100% in IMS V9
       environment.
    

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • HPFPU UNLOAD, HPIC HASH checking, and DRF HASH checking
    recognize the area just after formatted by IMS V9 DBFUMIN0 as
    a empty area.
    
    HPFPU RELOAD processes in the same manner with DBFUMIN0.
    
    The module FABAHEXT and FABAHSUB has been modified to recognize
    the area formatted IMS V9 DBFUMIN0 as a empty area.
    
    The module FABCUR1U and HFPJSDP0 have been modified to unload
    SDEP CIs correctly with SDEP=PHYSICAL option.
    
    The module FABC3ARE, HFPKARI0, and HFPKART0 have been modified
    to initialize SDEP LE RBA to the same RBA as SDEP LB RBA
    in IMS V9 environment.
    
    The module HFPKSDL0 has been modified to clear the IMS V9 dummy
    SDEP segment before SDEP segment insertion.
    
    The module FABC3END and HFPVSIN0 have been modified to format
    the SDEP CIs in the same manner with DBFUMIN0.
    
    The macro UR3WRK10 has been modified to add a save field to save
    the current DMACSDEP_LOGICALBEGIN_TS.
