PK36063: PERFORMANCE EXPERT CLIENT SHOWS INCORRECT GATEWAY SNAPSHOT TIME.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When display of  DB2 Connect / Gateway, and look in
  Statistics, the
  'Time Zone Displacement' field shows " -5:00:00" and the
  'Gateway
  Snapshot Time' shows " 12/31/99 7:00:00 PM".
  
  The Time Zone Displacement is incorrect and the Snapshot Time is
  incorrect and does not change.
  The Gateway Snapshot Time field may show dates of 20th Century
  or other incorrect dates when the host server runs in the
  WesternHemisphere time zone.

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  1. When the Host Server is running in Western hemisphere time
  zones, PE Client shows incorrect time and date of 1997 or 1999
  year in the Gateway Snapshot Time field.
  2. When the Host Server is running in Eastern hemisphere time
  zone, PWH is not running at the moments when Daylight Saving
  Time starts or ends PE Client shows Gateway Snapshot Time with +
  /- 1 hour error until PWH gets started.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. A time difference is now added to the gateway timestamp if
  time zone displacement is negative.
  2. Omegamon Server checks  Daylight Saving Time starts and ends
  each midnight and corrects DB2PM.VERSION table with correct
  time difference in seconds.
