Error description
During PLTPI processing, a DFHDS0002 message is issued, for: severe error (code X'0204') has occurred in module DFHDSTCB. This occurs after a Java program has run in PLTPI. Note bene: in earlier releases of CICS the symptoms differed: CPLT was left in a resumed_early dispatcher state after the Java program had run. The last suspend for a EKCWAIT that was posted, and resulted in the RESUME_EARLY, was on a J9 TCB.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CPLT can abend with DFHDS0002 (0204) * * after a Java program has run in * * PLTPI. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During PLTPI processing a Java program was given control from DFHSIPLT. DFHPGLK issued an apevi call to save_environment, but this failed to preserve the stacked portion of the EIS since the environment type of PLT was specified. DFHAPLJ1 then set on bit eis_abterm_allowed_switch. On completion of the Java program, eis_abterm_allowed_switch was left on. When the next PLTPI program received control, it issued an EXEC CICS POST command followed by an EXEC CICS WAIT. Since eis_abterm_allowed_switch was left on, on return from the EXEC CICS POST command, DFHEIP set the task_state to running_abterm_allowed. DFHDSTCB issued a DFHDS0002 abend with a severe error if x'0204', meaning DSTCB_INVALID_ABTERM.
Problem conclusion
DFHPGLK has been changed to specify EXEC rather than PLT for the dfhapevi macro. This preserves the EIS and so avoids eis_abterm_allowed_switch being left on.
