Error description

  • Following problems are addressed by this APAR:

    1) FABJ0178E OBTAIN ERROR DSCB-1=NO DSCB RC=00000008
REASON=00000000 resulting in DFS339I FUNCTION RV HAS COMPLETED
ABNORMALLY RC=16. In this case, during the recovery
process, DFSMSdss deallocates the pre-allocated data set
and reallocates it. The OBTAIN macro uses the
information of the pre-allocated data set, causing the error.

This results in message DFS312A RC8 during data base recovery.
Without this maintenance, data base recovery runs fine.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
This APAR includes fixes for following HPIC V4R1 problems:
    - HPIC Recovery function terminates with RC=16 and message
      FABJ0178E ( MSGFABJ0178E ) when the pre-allocaed data set
that is the recovery target is re-allocated by DFSMSdss
COPY process for Fast Recovery Format IC of Advanced Image
Copy. Because the DCB information of re-allocated data set is
different from original pre-allocated data set, but HPIC
recovery function refers recovered data set by old DCB after
DFSMSdss process for log merge process and OSAM space
checking process of the recovered data set. Then HPIC
      recovery process is failed.

    - HPIC Recovery function terminate with RC=8 and message DFS312A
( MSGDFS312A ), when a HISAM unload data set created by HISAM
Reorganization Unload utility (DFSURUL0) is used as input data
      set in an IMS-compatible JCL.

This APAR also includes following IMS APARs:
    PK32035 (IMS V9)
    - The open error message DFS0730I A,10,09 was issued because
with Online Reorg active, the target data set was opened in
UPDATE mode when it should have been opened in LOAD mode.
PK25717 changed DFSURDB0 such that if there is no image copy
as input to DB Recovery, the target data set will be opened in
UPDATE mode. It should have also checked to make sure OLR is
not active before opening in UPDATE mode. Whenever OLR is
active, the target data set must be opened in LOAD mode.

    PK33060 (IMS V9)
    - DFSURDB0 calls open close in load mode to format the output
dataset of an OLR. The formatting does not include the
partition ID and reorg number. This causes DFS0730I reason
I,65 to be issued when DFSURDB0 next calls open close in
UPDATE mode because the partition ID and Reorg number in the
second CI of the dataset are both zero and DFSDDUI0 fails the
      open call.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJCRC0 has been modified to check whether the input data set
is HISAM unload data set or not.

FABJDALO has been modified to allocate the recovered DBDS using
new DD name of 'FABJRCVR', when the DFSMSdss issues the message
    ADR390I ( MSGADR390I ).

FABJDSSB has been modified to add the new symbol.

FABJFCCN has been modified to check whether the DFSMSdss issues
    message ADR390I ( MSGADR390I ).

FABJRDB7, FABJRDB8 and FABJRDB9 have been modified as follows:
    - To change the DD name of recovered DBDS to 'FABJRCVR' after
DFSMSdss COPY process when the DFSMSdss issues the message
      ADR390I ( MSGADR390I ).
    - To check whether the input data set is HISAM unload data set
      or not.

FABJRDB9 has been modified to include the following IMS fixes:
    - PK32035
    - PK33060

FABJRFCN has been modified to call the FABJDALO, when the
    DFSMSdss issues the message ADR390I ( MSGADR390I ).

The following modules have been reassembled.
      FABJDFCN FABJDFC7 FABJDFC8 FABJDFC9 FABJFCAI FABJFCCM
      FABJFCC7 FABJFCC8 FABJFCC9 FABJFCDN FABJFCD7 FABJFCD8
      FABJFCD9 FABJRFC7 FABJRFC8 FABJRFC9
