Support a new keyword REORGMSG to control the amount of reorganization messages. (OER) 2. Show IOVF CIs used and IOVF CIs reclaimed in summary report. (OER) 3. Support a five-digit page number. (OER and ODM) Also, this APAR addresses the following problems for OPC: 1. When there are extremely a lot of numbers of CI for each UOW, OPC fails GETMAIN storage for buffer sets. 2. When the pointer error to which PTF points oneself is found, OPC gets 0C4 ABEND.

Comments
OER has been enhanced to support the following fuctions: 1. A new keyword REORGMSG=QUIET|VERBOSE has been added to OER. When REORGMSG=QUIET, the detailed reorganization messages are omitted. When REORGMSG=VERBOSE, all of the reorganization messages are output. 2. The following items are added to Reorganization Processing Summary Report of OER. "Number of IOVF CIs used before Reorganiztion" "Number of IOVF CIs used after Reorganiztion" "Number of IOVF CIs reclaimed" Number of IOVF CIs used before Reorganiztion shows the number of used IOVF CI before reorganization is executed. Number of IOVF CIs used after Reorganiztion shows the number of used IOVF CI after reorganization is executed. Number of IOVF CIs reclaimed shows the number of IOVF CI that is possible to be used as a result of reorganization 3. OER and ODM have been enhanced to support a five-digit page number, instead of the current 3-digit page number. OPC has been modified as follows: 1. When the number of CI for each UOW (value1 of UOW statement of DBDGEN) exceeds 6553 in OPC, Storage for Buffer set cannot be correctly acquired due to the IMS half word buffer set number. OPC has been modified to output FPX0186E message and end with RC=8 when it processes UOW with more than 6553 CIs. 2. OPC has been modified to make the error record using the content of the segment directly from the buffer set, instead of from the segment save area. ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== The IMS High Performance Fast Path Utilities for z/OS User's Guide Volume 3: Fast Path Online Tools (SC18-9871-00) should be changed as follows: Part 5. Online Expert Reorganization Chapter 13. Using OER Utility control statements REORG statement The REORGMSG keyword should be added to the list of the keywords that are associated with the REORG command, and the syntax figure of the REORG statement. The following description should be added: REORGMSG keyword The REORGMSG keyword is used to specify whether to output the detailed reorganization messages. The format of the REORGMSG keyword is ------QUIET------- | | >>--REORGMSG=-------------------------------------------->< | | -----VERBOSE------ The variable fields are defined as follows: QUIET Specifies that the detailed reorganization messages be omitted. VERBOSE Specifies that all of the reorganization messages be output. Default: QUIET Part 5. Online Expert Reorganization Chapter 13. Using OER Output Report and statistics The figure 31 should be modified as follows: "Number of IOVF CIs used before Reorganiztion .......... 91255 ( 28% of total)" should be added at the end of "Result of UOW Evaluation". "Number of IOVF CIs used after Reorganiztion ........... 48500 ( 15% of total)" and "Number of IOVF CIs reclaimed .......................... 42755 ( 13% of total)" should be added at the end of "Result of Reorganization". Appendixes. Messages: The FPX0186E message should be added as follows: --------------------------------------------------------------- FPX0186E Number of total CIs per UOW exceeded the maximum value nnnn. Explanation: The AREA definition for the number of CI for each UOW to exceed nnnn is not permitted due to the IMS half word buffer set number. System action: Processing ends with a return code of 8. User response: Correct the AREA definition, and rerun the job. ---------------------------------------------------------------
