PK34546: X'0440' BYTES OF KEY 7 SUBPOOL 0 STORAGE GETMAINED AT X'018E' INCCFAOUE9 BUT NOT FREED IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS,CAUSING S878 IN IMS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• X'0440' bytes of Key 7 Subpool 0 storage getmained at x'018E' in
  CCFAOUE9 but not freed when certain IMS messages are processed
  by Command Control Facility CCFAOE00, the IMS Automated Operator
  exit.  This occurs when there is also a user DFSAOUE0 exit. This
  caused an S878 ( ABENDS878 ) in the IMS Control Region.
  The bad branch has been corrected, and the storage will now be
  freed.

• Uninstall Command Control Facility until you can apply the fix.

  When using the combined message log function of CCF V2R1,
  and a customer or OEM DFSAOUE0 is installed, CCF has a
  creeping storage allocation problem. CCF getmains x'0440'
  bytes of storage in key 7subpool 0 but due to a bad branch
  fails to freemain the storage.
  

Problem conclusion

• The erroneous branch in CCF has been corrected and the
  storage will now be freemained.
