PK34315: OTMA MESSAGES ARE NOT DELETED VIA THE QCF PANELS ALTHOUGH THEY APPEAR TO GET DELETED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• At times, when attempting to delete an OTMA message via the
  QCF Online Panels, the deleted response is received, but
  the message does not get deleted and will show again upon the
  next display. This happens only if the TMEMBER is longer then
  8 bytes.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of QCF panels with TMEMBER names   *
  *                 longer than 8 bytes.                         *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Only 8 bytes TMEMBER destination name   *
  *                      show on panels. Only 8 bytes are used   *
  *                      in delete or view requests. In some     *
  *                      cases TMEMEBER destination names can be *
  *                      up to 16 bytes- in this cases they can  *
  *                      not be listed/deleted- because the      *
  *                      destination selection criteria can not  *
  *                      find the messagesusing only 8 bytes     *
  *                      from the names.                         *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The programs have been changed to use up to 16 bytes for TMEMBER
  destinationn names. The 16 bytes show on option 2.FILTER menu.
  For option 1.LIST menu only 8 bytes from the TMEMEBER
  destination names are moved to the buffer. From this option the
  messages with longer TMEMBER destination names can not be
  listed/deleted.
  

Problem conclusion

• Please, use option 2.FILTER to list/ delete messages with
  TMEMEBER destination names longer than 8 bytes.
  In printed reports all 16 bytes show.
