Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS users accessing LOB     *
  *                 data types in remote DB2 for iSeries or DB2  *
  *                 for LUW servers.                             *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Users connected to remote DB2 LUW or    *
  *                      DB2 iSeries servers who try to see      *
  *                      tables containing one or more LOB       *
  *                      data type columns may receive a         *
  *                      MSGDSQ16805 'Your command invoked a     *
  *                      program not found in the current plan'. *
  *                      Extended help will show a SQL code      *
  *                      -805 on package DSQELOCA (QMF V8.1) or  *
  *                      DSQFLOCA (QMF V9.1).  Users might also  *
  *                      see MSGDSQ14094 'Data type LOB, BLOB,   *
  *                      CLOB, etc. is not supported'. The       *
  *                      errors could happen when issuing the    *
  *                      DISPLAY command or SQL query against a  *
  *                      table containing one or more LOB        *
  *                      data types.  This might also happen     *
  *                      running a query produced by the QMF     *
  *                      DRAW command on a table with LOB        *
  *                      data types.                             *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  QMF V7.1 introduced limited support for LOB datatypes. The
  support was achieved through casting LOB data types to
  character. When enhanced support for LOBs was introduced in
  QMF V8.1 for DB2 z/OS servers, the support for DB2 LUW and
  DB2 iSeries was inadvertantly removed.
  

Problem conclusion

• This PTF enhances the QMF for TSO/CICS V8.1 and V9.1 product to
  have the same level of LOB support for DB2 iSeries and DB2 LUW
  servers as exists for DB2 for z/OS servers.
