Error description

  • The extra versions of DLZNUC are suffixed nucleus resident
modules. These DLZNUC nucleus resident modules are catlog'd
to the Local Catalog DFHLCD. So on a subsequent CICS start,
Loader Domain (DFHLDDMI) will create CPEs for all programs
which have a definition record in the DFHLCD. Later these
resident nucleus modules get loaded into CICS storage.
So if CICS is started with different suffixed DLZNUC, then this
will be loaded as well as the previous suffixed version.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The Application Control Table for local DL/I is a 'suffixable'
table. For example, if it was suffix 'AA' its full name
would be DLZNUCAA and the SIT override to use this table would
    be DLI=AA.

In the reported problem, a run of CICS used SIT override
DLI=(AA,COLD), CICS duly loaded table DLZNUCAA. This CICS
was shutdown and the SIT override changed to DLI=(BB,COLD)
and CICS was restarted. For this run of CICS, it loaded
    DLZNUCBB and DLZNUCAA.

The 'AA' table was catalogued to the local catalog on the
previous run and was restored from there on the current run
because DFHSIB1 did not treat it as a suffixable part.

    Keywords: DLI DL/1 DL1

Problem conclusion

  • DFHSIB1 has been modified and will now treat DLZNUCxx as
    a suffixable part.
