APAR status

Error description

  • IPR Reload causes performance degradation rebuilding the ILDS
    when all of the following conditions are satisfied:
    
    1. A HALDB which has many logical child occurrences is reloaded
       by IPR Reload with ILDSBLD=C.
    2. The partition to be reloaded is initialized before reloading.
    3. DFSVSAMP DD is not provided in the IPR Reload step.
    

Local fix

  • Specify the DFSVSAMP DD in the JCL with VSRBF=32768,5

Problem conclusion

  • The module HPSRMAIN has been modified to change the minimal
    DFSVSAMP definition to reduce the risks for performance
    degradation.
