PK29144: ALC COMMAND DOES NOT PROCESS NEW DB / NEW TS VALUES ON PANEL ADB27C 'ALTER TABLE'

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool ALC line command fails to process
  the "New DB" and "New TS" fields of panel ADB27C "ALTER table"
  so the object being worked upon is placed back into the original
  database and tablespace.

  *                 has been created in a default database.      *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ADB27AC does not always pick up a new   *
  *                      database name when altering a table.    *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
  ****************************************************************
  If the table  has  been created in the
  default  database, ADB2GEN  re-creates
  ddl without an "IN database/tablespace"
  clause, and consequently ALTER finds no
  "IN" clause to convert.
  

Problem conclusion

• ADB27AC will add an "IN database/tablespace"  clause
  if it is missing and there is a new database name.
