HPIC Recovery function generates the * * unnecessary message FABJ4187W * * ( MSGFABJ4187W ) when DFSURDB0 is * * invoked by DFSRRC00 with IMS V8. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * * This APAR level is required to run under * * IMS Paralell Reorganization for z/OS, * * Version 3 Release 2 (FMID H25N320). * **************************************************************** HPIC V4R1 allows for the STEPLIB DD that is not APF authorized and continues process without ABEND U0199 ( ABENDU0199 ), when HPIC is processed under one of the following conditions. - HPIO=N or HPIO=X is specified and processing without using the HPIO (High Performance Input/Output ) function. - TOIAUTO=N keyword is specified and processing without using the IMS Tools Online Interface. - FASTIC= keyword is not specified and without using the DFSMSdss COPY or DFSMSdss DUMP. APF authorization is still required if you run HPIC with one of these conditions. HPIC V4R1 supports the following function and ICEIN keyword, when the Image Copy function is invoked under IMS Parallel Reorganization. - High Performance Input/Output interface to reduce CPU time - Keyword GDGBASE= to allocate GDG base information This APAR includes fixes for following HPIC V4R1 problems: 1. HPIC Type-B Image Copy function terminates with ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) when all of the following conditions are satisfied: - ICTYPE=B is specified in the HPSIN control statement - The first IC/AIC statement that is about unnecessary DBD for IMS Parallel Reorganization is specified in the ICEIN control statement In these conditions, HPIC terminates without creating image copy data sets and misread the ECB area. 2. HPIC Image Copy function terminates with ABEND U3938 ( ABENDU3938 ) when the GDGBASE=Y keyword is specified in the ICEIN control statement. Because HPIC doesn't clear control block for IDCAMS, HPIC mishandles the next pointer of the next IDCAMS command. So the unnecessary IDCAMS command is issued and failed. 3. HPIC Recovery function generates the unnecessary message FABJ4187W ( MSGFABJ4187W ) when DFSURDB0 is invoked by DFSRRC00 with IMS V8.

FABJACQG has been modified to clear control block for IDCAMS command. FABJBLKD, FABJMAIN, FABJRPC0, FABJDMPN, FABJCRC0, FABJRDB7, FABJRDB8 and FABJRDB9 have been modified to allow for the STEPLIB DD that is not APF authorized.
