Error description

  • MSGDFHSM0002 x'0C01' invalid GETMAIN request when an application
    running on a CICS/TS for z/OS R3.1 system issues a DL/I call.
The abend is discovered in module DFHXFP (UK01576 level). There
is a field called RIBIOAWK, which is part of DLZRIB. This is
found in the DFHISDLI.COPY part. The field is supposed to be the
length of the 24bit getmain request and the value is x'04000004.

    ****************************************************************
There are two connected VSE systems. One is the application
owning region and the other is the database owning region.
The AOR function ships a DL/I request to the DOR. During the
return processing on the AOR an invalid length is found during
a GETMAIN request which leads to an ABENDAXF3.

The invalid length is due to DLZRIB being addressed
incorrectly and so the invalid length is being picked up from
    another area of storage.

    Additional Keywords: AXF3 DFHSM0002 SM0002 0C01 DL1 DL/1 DLI

Problem conclusion

  • DFHXFDL had been altered to ensure that DLZRIB is pointed
to correctly and so the actual length value is picked up
    for the GETMAIN request.
