Error description

  • When a CMAS is shut down and message EYUCL0005I is issued, the
status of the shared queue that MAS' use to send data to the
CMAS is put into RESET status.
In the MAS (in CTBT), we attempt to ADD an item to this shared
queue -- however, the requested ADD is invalid for a queue that
is in RESET status. This results in an invalid transition
status which causes EYUCL0105E. If PQ69893 is present, this
will also cause message EYUNL0905E and a system dump.
    This is a timing-related error.

    * need to occur at the same time. *
    ****************************************************************
When a CMAS terminates, method EYU0CLET (CLET) is called in the
CMAS to post all connected MASes to inform them of the CMAS
termination. At this point, the MASes should enter restart
state as indicated by message EYUXL0018I.

At the same time as this is occurring, method EYU0CLER (CLER)
also runs in the CMAS. CLER resets the receive status for the
CMAS. As such, any attempt to send data from a MAS will fail.

If a MAS is attempting to return data to a CMAS as the CMAS is
terminating, it is possible that method EYU0CLEV (CLEV) will
encounter an error due to CLER's processing. When this occurs,
CLEV does not check to see if it has been posted to enter
restart state. Instead, it issues message EYU0CL0005E, and then
calls NLSD, which issues message EYUNL0905E and the dump, and
    then terminates the MAS agent.

Problem conclusion

  • No serialization occurs with the processing performed by CLET
and CLER at CMAS termination. Both methods have been changed to
ensure CLET posts connected MASes before CLER resets the CMAS's
    receive state.

CLEV has been updated to check the restart ECB if it encounters
an error returning data to a CMAS. If the ECB is posted, CLEV
will initiate normal termination for restart. The serialization
changes to CLET and CLER ensure that the ECBs will be posted
before the receive state is reset.

Comments

  • During CMAS termination, the CPSM MAS
agent in a CICS region connected to the
CMAS may terminate invalidly. The MAS
    will receive messages EYUCL0005E and
EYUNL0905E along with the dump taken by
    method EYU0XZSD (XZSD) for method
    EYU0NLSD (NLSD).
