    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    HPIC Image Copy function terminates with ABEND S0C4
    ( ABEND0C4 ), when HPIC under IMS V8 or higher expands the AREA
    from DBD that is generated by IMS V7 or lower.
    Because HPIC refers extended field from IMS V8 in DBD for
    getting number of AREA, when HPIC runs with IMS V8 or higher.
    But this field does not exist in DBD that is generated
    by IMS V7 or lower, and HPIC pulls null value from there.
    Consequence of that, HPIC terminates with ABEND S0C4 during
    searching AREAs from DBD.

    HPIC changes to use old field for number of AREA in DBD, if
    number of AREA is fewer than 240. And when number of AREA is
    over 240, HPIC uses new field for the number of AREA.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJDBDN has been modified to refer DBD legacy field in DBD for
    getting numbers of AREA. When number of AREA is over 240, HPIC
    refer new field in DBD for the number of AREA that is provided
    by IMS Version 8.

    FABJDBD7, FABJDBD8, and FABJDBD9 have been reassembled.
