**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IMS Library Integrity Utilities for Z/OS, * * Version 1 Release 1 (FMID=H27P110) users * * who use Integrity Checker * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This enhancement to Integrity Checker * * provides two new options, RDEBUILD= and * * INITERR=, to a global option module. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR enhances LIU Integrity Checker as follows: 1. Add a new option RDEBUILD= to a global option module. You can choose whether to let Integrity Checker automatically create an RDE. 2. Add a new option INITERR= to a global option module. ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== IMS Library Integrity Utilities for z/OS Version 1 Release 1 User's Guide (Document Number: SC18-7025-02) should be changed as follows. ================================================================ 2.1 Overview 2.1.3 What is a global option module A global option module provides the following information to Integrity Checker: << Add the following information to the global option module. >> | o Option values to control the processing of Integrity | Checker 2.4 Using global option modules 2.4.2 Running the FABLPGEN job << Add the following new options. >> |RDEBUILD= | Specifies the value for the option to determine whether to let | Integrity Checker automatically build an RDE. The system | default value for this parameter is Y. | | Y | If there is no current RDE for a DEDB database, a non-HALDB | database, or a HALDB partition, Integrity Checker | automatically builds an RDE during the first access to the | database or the partition. | N | Even if there is no current RDE for a DEDB database, a | non-HALDB database, or a HALDB partition, Integrity Checker | does not build an RDE during the first access to the database | or the partition. | |INITERR= | Specifies the value for the option to determine whether | Integrity Checker abnormally ends, or issues a warning message | and stops its processing, when the initialization of Integrity | Checker fails. The system default value for this parameter is | A. | | A | If the initialization of Integrity Checker fails, it ends | abnormally together with the IMS online subsystem or the IMS | batch job. | W | If the initialization of Integrity Checker fails, it issues a | warning message and stops its processing. The IMS online | subsystem or the IMS batch job continues processing without | the Integrity Checker function. However, Integrity Checker | ends abnormally if errors happen before the effective value | for this option is decided. The errors are the load failures | of the following modules: | o FABLRDRx (x: 8 or 9) | o FABLWM0 | o FABLAI0 | o Global option module B.4.1 FABL messages << Add the following new message. >> |FABL0110W LIU INTEGRITY CHECKER STOPPED PROCESSING | |Explanation: The LIU integrity checker could not successfully |complete its initialization. The LIU integrity checker |processing was stopped, because INITERR=W was specified in the |global option module. | |System action: The IMS online subsystem or the IMS batch region |continues processing without the LIU integrity checker function | |Problem determination: Read the preceding messages that explain |the error conditions. | |Programmer response: If necessary, correct the error conditions |and restart the IMS online subsystem or rerun the batch job.
