Error description

  • High Performance Image Copy V4 gets ABENDS0CB on image copy
    DEDB performing with the hash check option.
    The abend is due to a zero divide exception.
    Abending module is FABAHASH and is a component of HPFP FPB V22
    which is called internally by HPIC.

    HPIC got S0CB ABEND at HPIC hash checking.
    

Problem conclusion

  • FABAHEXT, the HPIC hash checking module, has an inappropriate
    instruction during SDEP free spaces calculation.
    In this abend case, the AREA has no SDEP defined in the DBD
    definition, DMACFBAD and DMACFSEQ are equal.
    As a result, the number of SDEP CIs (DMACFBAD - DMACFSEQ) is
    zero.
    
    FABAHEXT calculates  SDEP free spaces without an evaluation of
    the total SDEP CIs. Thus FABAHEXT got S0CB ABEND.
    The same thing will occur to DRF FABAHRPT module in the same
    environment.
    
    FABAHEXT and FABAHRPT have been modified to evaluate the
    total SDEP CIs before SDEP free spaces calculation, and
    set BLANK to SDEP free spaces field when DMACFBAD and DMACFSEQ
    are the same value.
    
    FABADA1 has been modified to set BLANK to SDEP free spaces
    field when DMACFBAD and DMACFSEQ are the same value.
