PK25373: FPB DEDB PC DOESN'T ISSUE MSGFABA0141W FOR AN AREA THAT WAS JUST INITIALIZED BY IMS V9 DBFUMIN0.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DEDB Pointer Checker doesn't issue message FABA0141W for an
  area just initialized by IMS V9 DBFUMIN0. The message must be
  issued against an SDEP defined empty area.
  The DEDB PC also reports SDEP freespace % smaller than 100 for
  the area. Freespace of the SDEP part must be 100%.
  
  This is due to a specification change of IMS V9 DBFUMIN0.
  The DBFUMIN0 change makes SDEP LE RBA equal to SDEP LB RBA.
  Before IMS V9, The SDEP LE RBA was LB RBA + 4.
  
  This is a forward fit APAR that was originated by
  FPB V1R2 APAR PK25354.

Problem conclusion

• IMS V9 DBFUNIN0 initializes SDEP LB (DMACXVAL) to the same as
  SDEP LE (DMACNXTS) of an AREA that is defined a SDEP segment
  type. At this time, DEDBPC cannot calculate a SDEP free spaces
  correctly and cannot issue FABA0141W message.
  
  FABADMAC has been modified to add 4 to RBA of SDEP LE
  to calculate a SDEP free spaces correctly only when processes
  a AREA that is just initialized by IMS V9 DBFUMIN0.
  This is to force converting SDEP LE value as IMS V8 one
  which is used for SDEP space calculation so that current SDEP
  space calculation logic can be applied without no modification.
