Error description

  • Admin Tool 7.1 does not return to the error panel, after a bad
subsystem is chosen.

Local fix

  • PF3 (end) and/or ENTER keys will eventually get user back to
ADB2SYS.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: All users of Admin Tool that specify         *
*                 parameter SYSTEM(xxxx) and the connection    *
*                 to DB2 subsystem xxxx encounters a           *
*                 recoverable connection error.                *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Admin Tool was displaying panel ADB2SYS *
*                      in an effort to assist users in         *
*                      selecting an active DB2 subsystem. This *
*                      APAR introduces a new parameter NORETRY *
*                      to suppress this action. This is only   *
*                      applicable when the SYSTEM(xxxx)        *
*                      parameter is also specified.            *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: APPLY the PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
Admin Tool displays panel ADB2SYS unnecessarily.

Problem conclusion

  • New functionality has been introduced to improve installation
control of the initialization of Admin Tool.
