    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
When HPIC Image Copy function has selected the IDRC mode
compaction for the Magnetic Tape Subsystem, HPIC Recovery
function mishandles a record format of the image copy
    data sets.

The record format of generated image copy data set is VBS, when
the COMP=Y is requested and HPIC selects IDRC instead of HPIC
compression routine. But HPIC recovery function processes it as
FBS format and does not care the length field.

Therefore HPIC recovery function can not put the correct data in
the database. If the database is an index, message DFS2802A
    ( MSGDFS2802A ) may issue.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJRDB7, FABJRDB8 and FABJRDB9 have been modified to process
Image copy data sets that are compressed by IDRC compaction as
    VBS record format.
