Error description

  • There is a problem in the logic that distinguishes volumes when
in a multi-volume environment - thus, HPIC can not open the
    Image Copy correctly.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: HPIC CRC function does not allocate *

    * set, therefore CRC function does not *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
HPIC CRC function does not check more than 5 volume serial for
the input IC, therefore CRC does not read the data in the
    following volume and issues ICE710.

By this fix, HPIC checks more than 5 volumes and avoid
    dismount.

This change includes ICCAT(Y) of DBRC in CRC, and uses catalo
information for the input ic instead of in the RECON.
If the multiple data sets resides more than 20 volumes, tape is
dismount by each data sets. It is restriction of CAMLIST macro
    in DFSMS.

Problem conclusion

  • FABJCRC0 has been modified to collect catalog entries and use
them when the CATDS(Y) is defined.

FABJCRC1 has been modified to check VOLUME sequence numbers of
current processing DBDS and follows. Consequence of this change,
CRC does not rewind the tape if the data sets are stacked in a
    tape.

FABJDALC has been modified to add allocation process of the
    input IC for CRC.

FABJBLKD has been modified to add the flag for stacking status
    of the input IC.
