APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• HD Pointer Checker reserves the RECON data sets with
  QNAME(DSPURI01), while it allocates dynamically the image
  copy data set.  It could cause a long time locking the RECON
  data sets , for example, if the image copy data set is archived,
  HD Pointer Checker will wait for the image copy data set is
  restored from the archive data set, and keep reserving the
  RECONS.

  HD Pointer Checker holds the reserve on RECON data sets while
  it is dynamically allocating input databases or image copy data
  sets. If the input data sets are archived to tape units, HD
  Pointer Checker holds the reserve until the data sets are
  recalled. This causes other IMS regions to wait for the RECON
  data sets for a long period.
  

Problem conclusion

• The module FABPACTL has changed to release the exclusive lock of
  RECON data sets, before it will allocate input data sets
  dynamically.
