  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • HPIC FASTIC=DUMP obtains storage for I/O buffer, but its length
is shorter than real data. HPIC tried to move longer data into
the small buffer and terminated with ABEND S0C4.

    ****************************************************************
When you run the DUMP of HPIC Advanced Image Copy Service,
    you may get ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ).

The DUMP of HPIC Advanced Image Copy Service allocated DUMMY
file as output worked data set of DFSMSdss DUMP command. But
DFSMSdss does not support DUMMY as output, and if it is dummy
DFSMSdss passes unexpected record to DFSMSdss API.

And DFSMSdss API record delete function for the output data set,
then unnecessary data set is created when using DUMP of the
    Advanced Image Copy Service.

DFSMSdss maintenance OA18326 is required when you use the DUMP
of HPIC Advanced Image Copy Service.

Problem conclusion

  • DFSMSdss APAR OA18326 supports API Record Delete Function
correctly. This DFSMSdss APAR and HPIC PK23109 is required
when using the COPY of HPIC Advanced Image Copy Service.
    .
By the HPIC APAR PK23109 provides new DD ICEFICO that allocates
temporary data set for DFSMSdss API Sub Address Space. This
set is optional, but if your environment does not allow to share
temporary data set in the different address space by RACF
    control of TEMPDSN class.

A new module FABJDDIM has been created for analyzing the ICEFICO
    DD statement.

FABJDSXA and FABJFCDN have been modified to expand the CI buffer

FABJMAIN has been modified as follows:
    - to check the existence of ICEFICO DD statement.
    - to call the new module FABJDDIM, if the ICEFICO DD statement
      exist.

FABJPARM, FABJSTMD, FABJSTMP, FABJTGEN, and FABJBLKD have been
modified to support the new keyword DSSTEMP=.

FABJDALC has been modified to allocate ICEFICO data set
    dynamically.

FABJGLRP has been modified to report the new keyword DSSTEMP= to
    Global Options Report.

    | This optional input data set contains the user-specified
    | control statements that define the allocation attribute for
    | the work data set of FASTIC=(,DUMP) process. If this data set
    | is not defined, uses 'DUMMY', or uses DSN=NULLFILE, HPIC
    | allocates the temporary data set as a work data set.

    | If you specify DSSTEMP=dsn in GLOBAL statement or Site
    | Default Table, HPIC allocats the data set as ICEFICO DD.

    2.3 Input
2.3.1 ICEIN Control Statement Data Set
    2.3.4.1 GLOBAL Statement
       :
The GLOBAL statement contains the following keywords:
       :
    | DSSTEMP=

    2.3.5 ICEIN Keywords
    | 3.3.5.x DSSTEMP=

    | The DSSTEMP Keyword specifies the data set name for
    | ICEFICO. The data set is specify the allocation information
    | of the work data set of FASTIC=(,DUMP) process.
    | +----------------------------------------------------+
    | | DSSTEMP=dsn |
    | +----------------------------------------------------+
    | where:
    | dsn
    | is the data set name that is provides the allocation
    | attributes for the work data set of FASTIC=(,DUMP) process.

    | This keyword does not have a default.

    | This keyword can be used in the following control statements:
        GLOBAL

    | 2.3.x ICEFICO data set
    | ICEFICO is the optional input data set that contains the
    | user-specified control statements that define the allocation
    | attribute for the work data set of FASTIC=(,DUMP) process.

    | Tape Unit can not be used as DFSMSdss temporaqry workd output
    | data set.

    | Input Parameters of ICEFICO are :
    | HLQ=
    | DATACLAS=
    | MGMTCLAS=
    | STORCLAS=
    | VOLSER=
    | UNIT=

    | HLQ=
    | You can specify a High Level Qualifier for the work data
    | set. You can specify up to a 17 bytes qualifier. HPIC
    | allocates the data set using the following naming rule:
    | DSN=hlq.Jnnnnnnn.Dyyyyddd.Thhmmss

    | DATACLAS=
    | The DATACLAS keyword specifies the name of the data class
    | for the SMS managed work data set that is dynamically
    | allocated.

    | MGMTCLAS=
    | The MGMTCLAS keyword specifies the name of the management
    | class for the SMS managed work data set that is dynamically
    | allocated.

    | STORCLAS=
    | The STORCLAS keyword specifies the name of the storage class
    | for the SMS managed work data set that is dynamically
    | allocated

    | VOLSER=
    | The VOLSER keyword specifies the volume serial number.

    | UNIT=
    | The UNIT keyword specifies the UNIT parameter of the work
    | data set.

    | EXAMPLE:
    | //ICEFICO DD *
    | HLQ=ICSMS1.TESTDS,
    | DATACLAS=DCICSTN,
    | MGMTCLAS=MCICSTN,
    | STORCLAS=SCICSTN

    | If you specify a ICEFICO DD, HPIC allocates a work data set
    | for FASTIC=(,DUMP) by providing allocation information. This
    | data is then deleted when the process has ended.
