PK21512: QCF SERVER ABEND301 AFTER IMS MESSAGE QUEUES FILLED AND CAUSED IMS ABEND778

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• QCF Communication server gets ABENDS301 after IMS message queues
  filled and IMS control region abended with ABENDS778.

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Server abends after IMS control region abend. Server should stay
  up and running and establish connection to the control region
  after restart.
  If client requests services-server should issue a message and
  stay active to wait on IMS up and running.
  

Problem conclusion

• Server's and panel's programs have been changed to check for IMS
  control region up or down. Serever stays active if control
  region is down and establishes connection to the control region
  after restart. Message IQC7006I- IMS CONTROL REGION UNAVAILABLE
  is issued if the control region is down and the panel's programs
  request services.
  Server can not be started without control region up and running-
  on server start it requiers IMS services to set the type of the
  messages queues. Start of server  without control region will
  be possible in next QCF release.
