Error description

• INCORRECT FALSE CONTENTION RATE FOR LOCK STRUCTURE ON CUA PANEL
  KD2VGLKD
  
  The recreation steps are shown below:
  1. logon CUA session
  2. select Lock Stats
  3. select Global Lock (panel id KD2VGLKD) and saw the initial
     values for XES Unlock Requests, XES Asynchronous Requests and
     Suspends-False Contention are nn,nnn and increased per
     second.
  
  The fields the customer noticed in error are found on the Lock
  Manager statistics panel for global locking (panel id KD2VGLKD):
  
  a)  False Contention percentage
  b)  XES Asynchronous request count
  c)  Suspends - False Contention
  
  In the case of b) and c) the customer can observe these being
  incremented at approximate 1 per second even on a test data
  sharing group that does not have any active workload.  There
  were changes in z/OS 1.2 which changed the handling of XES
  requests.  The customer first noticed this discrepancy in the
  False contention report after they converted to z/OS 1.4.  DB2
  PM also reports the same false contention value.

  PQ96950/UK02213  INCORRECT NUMBER OF CONTENTIONS . The DB2 field
  QTGSFLSE used to report FALSE CONTENTIONS only.
  Due to a change in zOS 1.2 this field will now also be
  incremented for all SYNCH TO ASYNCH CONVERSIONS of IRLM LOCK
  REQUESTS. This might lead to the conclusion of a high number  of
  false contentions while they are not. Therefore DB2 has add a
  new field to DB2 V8 indicating the true number of false
  contentions. DB2 Performance Expert will be changed to report
  the summation of false contentions and synch to asynch
  conversions and for DB2 V8 systems the real number of false
  contentions.
  
  PQ87783 add a new field to IFCID 2 to differ false contention
  from lock request conversions. PK03878 is a corresponding DB2PM
  V8 apar
  
  PK03878/UK02213 is valid for both PM V8 and PE V2.  The same PTF
  works for both since they use the same code base.
  
  DB2PE Apar PK07466 to calculate the Global Contention using the
  Suspends - False Cont counter.  Previously the False CONT&CONV
  counter was used.  PK07466 has PTF UK04977 assigned to it.
